Positioning Yourself as a Freelance SAP AI Consultant
As of 2026-09-25
A positioning module for SAP analytics consultants who have finished the technical foundations and a first portfolio demo and now need to talk about SAP AI work credibly to a client or a headhunter. Covers what an SAP AI consultant actually sells (the bridge from an existing SAP analytics platform to the AI layer), the one real SAP generative-AI exam code (C_AIG_2604, distinguished from invented Joule exam codes), a skills map from SAP analytics to SAP AI, how to answer the production-experience question honestly, how to scope and discuss pricing without inventing numbers, and named, dated, verifiable SAP customer results (Bosch Digital, AMD, LC Waikiki, Salling Group, Zalando Payments) to anchor market claims.
What you will learn
- Articulate the bridge from an SAP analytics platform (Datasphere, BW/4HANA, SAC, BDC) to the SAP AI layer in one specific, checkable statement
- Cite the one real SAP generative-AI certification (C_AIG_2604) correctly and recognise that a Joule-branded exam code is not a real SAP exam code
- Map at least three existing SAP analytics skills to their SAP AI equivalent to demonstrate delivery judgement, not just vocabulary
- Answer 'have you built this in production' with precision, distinguishing trial-tenant depth from production delivery
- Scope and discuss pricing for an SAP AI engagement by deliverable and risk, without inventing day-rate figures or misquoting SAP's fictitious metering example
- Reference named, dated, verifiable SAP customer AI results to ground market claims instead of repeating vendor marketing
Module overview
Who this is for. SAP analytics consultants — Datasphere, SAC, BW/4HANA or Business Data Cloud specialists — who have covered the AI fundamentals (M333), built at least the first of the three portfolio demos (M382), and now need to turn that into a conversation a client or a headhunter takes seriously. This module is not technical; it is about not undermining technical work with a weak or inaccurate positioning.
Prerequisites
- Completion of M333 (AI & LLM Fundamentals for SAP Consultants)
- At least one demo built or fully specified from M382 (Your SAP AI Portfolio)
- Working knowledge of your own SAP analytics specialisation (Datasphere, BW/4HANA, SAC or BDC) at consultant level
Outcomes
- Deliver a one-paragraph positioning statement that a client or headhunter can verify claim by claim.
- Cite certification status accurately, using only the real SAP exam code where applicable.
- Answer the production-experience question honestly, naming what would change to move from a demo to production.
- Discuss SAP AI engagement scope and pricing by deliverable and risk rather than as an undifferentiated category.
