SAP Business AI Platform End to End - Build, Contextualize, Reason, Govern and Operate
As of 2026-10-16
A practitioner module on SAP Business AI Platform as one architecture: models and runtime, context, build, govern and secure, operate, and deploy. It builds on C264 and the exam-prep module M396 without repeating them, separates documented capabilities from those described only in the thirteen platform sessions of the SAP TechEd 2026 catalogue (Berlin, 27-29 October 2026), shows how to ground agents, govern them, monitor and cost them, deploy them sovereign, and estimate a use case with the Discovery Center path. It closes with a lab, a worked receivables scenario and a list of what to verify after the event.
What you will learn
- Draw the six-layer end-to-end picture of SAP Business AI Platform (models and runtime, context, build, govern and secure, operate, deploy) and name the owner of each layer
- Distinguish orchestration-service grounding from Knowledge Graph and domain-model context, and pick the matching evaluation method
- Specify the three governance controls (inventory, execution policy, identity) and apply the API Access Policy of 27 April 2026 to an agent design
- Plan operations: monitoring signals in SAP Cloud ALM, cost allocation for FinOps, administration through an MCP server and onboarding as code, each flagged as documented or abstract-only
- Estimate a use case with the Discovery Center path and replace assumptions with pilot measurements
- Check a sovereign design layer by layer and list what to verify after SAP TechEd 2026
Module overview
Who this is for. You have read the platform story (C264) and, perhaps, prepared the positioning exam (M396) or the architect exam (M395). A client now asks the practitioner question: "What do we actually build on SAP Business AI Platform, what does it run on, who watches it, what does it cost, and where can it be deployed?" This module is the end-to-end answer. It does not repeat the pillar vocabulary of C264, the exam techniques of M396 and M395, the pricing mechanics of M060 and C333, or agent building (M326), MCP/A2A (M327) and production lifecycle (M374); it links them into one architecture and one adoption path. Platform vocabulary: SAP Business AI Platform is the SAP-branded home of what was SAP BTP, together with SAP Business Data Cloud and the AI foundation services; individual services keep their names.
Prerequisites
- Concept C264 read, and a working knowledge of Joule Studio and agents at the level of M326
- Module M060 or equivalent knowledge of AI Units and the custom-built AI meter
- Optional: the positioning exam preparation M396 and the architect exam preparation M395; this module does not repeat them
Outcomes
- Present the platform to a client architect as six layers with owners rather than as a list of products.
- Choose between retrieval and modelled context for a given question and name the evaluation metric.
- Write a governance sheet covering inventory, execution policy and identity for one agent.
- Produce an operations plan with monitoring, cost allocation and onboarding steps, each marked documented or to verify.
- Deliver a sourced estimate in which every assumption is labelled measured or assumed.
