How to find an SAP partner — the programme, the official finder, and our directory
As of 2026-08-17
'SAP partner' is a specific, SAP-administered status — not a generic description of anyone who works with SAP. SAP verifies and lists partners itself; our directory separately tracks 1,114 of our 7,641 visible profiles as self-declaring some form of that status (company-profiles-index.json, 16 August 2026). The two lists answer different questions and neither replaces the other.
What 'SAP partner' actually is
SAP partner status is awarded through SAP's own PartnerEdge programme, at declared tiers — Gold, Platinum, Silver among others — earned through certification headcount, delivered references and a formal application, not claimed at will. A firm's website can say 'SAP partner' loosely; only SAP's own register confirms the tier is current. Our directory field records what a firm states publicly, evidenced from its own materials — a signal, not a verification.
What our directory shows
1,114 of 7,641 visible profiles state some form of partner status: 291 exactly 'Gold', 304 exactly 'Platinum', 67 'SAP Gold Partner' specifically, 47 'Silver', and a long tail of free-text variants (company-profiles-index.json). The remaining 6,527 state none — which does not mean they lack one, only that our sourcing found no public evidence of it.
The accredited delivery channel above the tiers
Above the general PartnerEdge tiers sits a narrower, invitation-only track: Joule for Consultants gives SAP's Global Strategic Service Partners — EY, KPMG, Deloitte, Accenture, IBM and named regional peers — tenant access and a certification path to deliver SAP's own AI product at client sites. It is evidence that 'partner' itself has an internal hierarchy, not a single flat badge.
Using the two sources together
For a live, authoritative check of a specific firm's current tier, SAP's own partner finder is the source of record — ours is not a substitute for it. Use our directory instead for what SAP's own tool doesn't carry: country-level browsing across 27 tracked markets, engagement mode (freelance, permanent, subcontract), and where a firm sits among the eight other firm types that aren't partner-badged at all.
A partner status doesn't rank the firm for you
A confirmed Gold or Platinum tier tells you the firm cleared SAP's bar; it doesn't tell you whether that firm suits a Datasphere migration versus a BW/4HANA one, or whether its team has capacity right now. 604 of our profiles carry the Big-4/global advisory tier and most of the 1,114 partner-badged firms sit there or among the 670 SAP specialist boutiques — read the firm type alongside the tier, not instead of it.
Frequently asked
Is 'SAP partner' a status anyone with SAP experience can claim?
No. It's awarded by SAP through the PartnerEdge programme at declared tiers, earned through certification, references and formal application — not a description a firm can adopt on its own authority.
How many firms in the directory hold an SAP partner status?
1,114 of 7,641 visible profiles state one, from 'SAP Gold Partner' (67) to unspecified 'Partner' claims — self-declared and evidenced from public sources, not independently re-verified against SAP's own register.
Where do I verify a firm's current partner tier?
SAP's own partner finder is the authoritative, current record. Our directory shows what a firm states publicly and adds country and firm-type filtering that SAP's tool doesn't.
Does a partner badge tell me which firm is the best fit?
No — it confirms a minimum certification and reference bar, not fit for your specific product line or timeline. Cross-check the firm's declared type and country alongside the badge.
Can a firm lose SAP partner status?
Yes — tiers are renewed against ongoing certification and reference requirements, which is exactly why a public claim can go stale. It's a further reason to check SAP's own current register rather than a firm's own homepage alone.
