The Content Pyramid: One Idea, Ten Formats

Content pyramid: one observation repurposed into six formats — architecture diagram for The Content Pyramid: One Idea, Ten Formats, Analytics Legends Academy module M213

As of 2026-08-16

The content pyramid turns one well-observed engagement insight into six publishable formats — a LinkedIn post, a carousel, an article, a newsletter issue, a conference-talk abstract, and a short video — instead of requiring a new idea every week. Run on an eight-week calendar, six observations a year produce 36 pieces of content, enough sustained visibility that a programme manager or recruiter sees a specific point of view before they ever need to search for a consultant. The commercial payoff is pricing power: a consultant with a published track record on a named problem stops being compared to a cheaper generalist, because no generalist is showing up in that client's feed with an opinion on the exact problem they are trying to solve. The only real cost is discipline — three sentences written after every engagement to extract the next observation.

What you will learn

  • Identify the single core insight from a market observation or client engagement that serves as the raw material for a content series
  • Map one insight to at least six formats — post, carousel, article, newsletter, talk, and video — and estimate the production cost of each
  • Build a repurposing calendar that allows a busy SAP analytics consultant to maintain consistent presence without creating original content every week
  • Evaluate which formats reach which audience segments (recruiters, in-house SAP teams, practice leads, peer consultants) to prioritise production effort

The scarcity problem: why consultants underestimate what they already know

A senior SAP analytics consultant working on a BW/4HANA migration spends 18 months accumulating pattern knowledge that almost no one else has: which data model archetypes consistently create performance problems at scale, how finance and supply chain business owners respond differently to UAT delays, what the real timeline drivers are for a 40-model migration versus a 15-model one. None of that knowledge is public. All of it is valuable to other practitioners and to prospective clients.

The constraint is not ideas. It is time and the false belief that each format requires a separate original idea. The content pyramid model rejects that premise: one thoroughly observed insight, repurposed systematically across six or seven formats, produces months of professional presence without inventing new thinking each week.

This module is about the system, not about the individual formats. The individual format choices follow from understanding the system.
