What is SAP Business Data Cloud Intelligent Applications?

What SAP means by "Intelligent Application"
SAP's own framing, from its May 2025 Sapphire announcements, is that intelligent applications are "adaptive, AI-powered applications that learn from your data, understand business context, and act on your behalf" — explicitly positioned as going beyond traditional analytics by automating and orchestrating work across both analytical and transactional workflows, using fully managed SAP data products across lines of business. A lineup that has already changed once
At SAP Sapphire in May 2025, SAP named five intelligent applications with different statuses: People Intelligence (workforce composition, skills and compensation from SAP SuccessFactors, with AI-driven talent recommendations, targeted for the second half of 2025), Cloud ERP Intelligence (manufacturing, supply chain and contract-accounting insights and simulations, technology preview), Customer Intelligence (a 360-degree customer view for sales, service, marketing and commerce, technology preview), Finance Intelligence (real-time liquidity analysis, cash-flow forecasting and risk detection for CFOs, technology preview) and Spend Intelligence (procurement spend visibility and supplier-risk management, technology preview).
Why it matters
