End-to-End BDC Capstone
As of 2026-08-16
The end-to-end BDC capstone synthesises the whole track into one coherent capability — designing a complete BDC solution from architecture to AI, governed throughout. The arc: architecture (M031) → foundation/data products (M033) → engineering (M042) → integration (Databricks/multi-platform M034/M035/M041) → delivery (Insight Apps + bespoke M036) → AI (grounded Joule + governed agents M046/M047/M049/M037) → operations (sizing/cost/monitoring M040/M043/M045) → governance (federated model M039). Show how they compose, not just that each exists. Migration is the on-ramp not a separate track — integrate the migration journey (M068/M070/M044) + history strategy (M071) as the path onto the architecture. Governance is the through-line woven through every layer (M039/M080/M081/M082/M077), not bolted on; same for consumption-awareness (M032). The deliverable: a defensible blueprint (target architecture + product portfolio + migration plan + governance + AI design + TCO + operating model) that gets a multi-year programme approved. Honest: a coherent defensible starting design with explicit assumptions/decision points, not false-precision. This is the senior BDC architect — the scarcest profile (<2,000 vs 10,000+ by 2028,).
What you will learn
- Compose architecture, data products, engineering, AI, and operations into one defensible BDC blueprint
- Sequence a migration on-ramp from a legacy estate through governed waves, not a greenfield fantasy
- Weave governance and cost consumption-awareness through every layer of the design, not bolt them on at the end
- Defend the blueprint's trade-offs and assumptions to a steering committee in language a sponsor can repeat
The end-to-end Business Data Cloud capstone is where the whole track stops being a list of components and becomes a single coherent capability — the integrative exercise of designing a complete Business Data Cloud solution from architecture through to AI, governed consistently throughout, rather than a collection of separately impressive pieces. It marks the difference between a consultant who knows the individual BDC building blocks and a consultant who can stand in front of a steering committee and defend how the whole thing fits together, why it is sequenced the way it is, and what happens if a specific assumption turns out to be wrong. This module exists to synthesize every prior BDC module into one defensible blueprint, and the discipline of building that synthesis is itself the actual skill being taught here — not any single new technical fact.
Why synthesis is harder than any individual component
Prerequisites
- Intermediate hands-on experience on SAP analytics projects
- Review core concepts first: C012, C015, C008
Outcomes
- Explain how architecture, data products, engineering, integration, delivery, AI, and operations compose into one BDC blueprint
- Show a defensible migration on-ramp from a legacy estate through governed waves
- Weave governance and cost consumption-awareness through every layer, not as a final chapter
- Produce a steering-committee-ready blueprint with explicit assumptions and decision points
