What is Joule Studio GA?

Joule Studio's real differentiator isn't the drag-and-drop canvas — it's that every agent inherits the tenant's Knowledge Graph context by default, with no manual wiring required.

Joule Studio is SAP's low-code, drag-and-drop canvas for designing, testing, and deploying multi-step agentic workflows — the surface where a process designer builds an agent without writing ABAP or Python. It reached general availability in Q1 2026 alongside the broader Joule ecosystem growing to more than thirty specialized agents and over twenty-five hundred Joule Skills, and SAP positioned it at Sapphire Orlando 2026 as the primary authoring surface for what the company calls the Autonomous Enterprise: the place where a human still draws the agent graph and sets the escalation guardrails, even as the agent itself executes the steps.

Why this matters is mostly about who gets to build agents. Before a canvas like this existed, wiring an agent to enterprise data and business rules required a developer comfortable with the SAP Business AI Platform SDK, REST calls, and BAPI or RFC wrappers. Joule Studio moves a large share of that work into a visual designer that a business analyst or a solution architect can operate directly, which changes both the speed of iteration and who is allowed to sit at the keyboard during design.
