WalkMe is a digital adoption platform that overlays a guidance layer on top of any web application — including SAP S/4HANA Cloud, the Fiori launchpad, and SuccessFactors — without touching a single line of the underlying application's code. SAP acquired WalkMe in August 2023 for roughly $1.5 billion and folded it into the BTP portfolio as the default change-management and end-user-enablement layer for SAP cloud applications. Since the acquisition, an AI layer has been added on top: AI-generated guidance content, predictive detection of where users are about to abandon a task, and natural-language search across every walkthrough that exists in the tenant.
