What is SAP LeanIX?

SAP LeanIX (acquired November 2023) keeps the architecture inventory current by discovery, not interviews: SAP Landscape Discovery via SAP Cloud ALM, discovery of SAP Build projects and of applications deployed to SAP BTP Cloud Foundry, all landing in a discovery inbox for review. On top sit AI assistants for architects (GA features in Q1–Q2 2026) and, since Sapphire 2026, the SAP AI Agent Hub, which discovers and governs AI agents, LLMs and MCP servers across SAP and non-SAP landscapes.

What LeanIX is for

SAP completed the acquisition of LeanIX on 8 November 2023. SAP LeanIX is an enterprise architecture management (EAM) tool: fact sheets for applications, IT components, business capabilities and platforms, linked in a meta model, with lifecycle information and road maps. Its value in SAP programmes is simple to state — a current, trusted map of what exists and how it connects — and hard to achieve by hand. That is why the SAP-specific investment has gone into discovery.

Why it matters

Discovery through SAP Cloud ALM and BTP Cloud Foundry crawling replaces interview-based inventories with a reviewable inbox.
AI agents are a new, fast-growing application class; SAP AI Agent Hub gives them owners, risk classes, verification and value tracking.
AI features for architects are now GA in waves (Q1, Q2, September 2026) — scope what is available, not what is on a slide.
