C_BDCDA is SAP's scenario-based certification for the Data Architect profile on SAP Business Data Cloud: one activity, 2 hours on the certification page, a 60 % pass score, a recorded video of at most 1 hour (English only) and no question dumps to study from (learning.sap.com, checked 15 October 2026). The record lists four topics at 25 % each: data architecture paradigms, business-aligned architecture and governance, AI value with integrated frameworks, and the SAP Business Data Fabric. SAP Datasphere has no standalone exam; it is assessed here and in C_BCBDC_2605. Prepare by structuring every answer as problem, concepts, scenario, trade-offs, recommendation, and rehearse with a timer.

What you will learn

  • State the verified C_BDCDA facts as published on learning.sap.com (one scenario-based activity, 2 hours, 60 % pass score, video of at most 1 hour, English for the video) and the four topics at 25 % each.
  • Explain the five paradigms (Data Warehouse, Data Lake, Data Mesh, Data Fabric, Data Lakehouse) with problem, scenario and trade-offs, and justify a hybrid architecture.
  • Present governance, security and data strategy as one interdependent system and tie it to measurable business value.
  • Compare two integration options for SAP Business Data Cloud across federation, replication, zero-copy sharing and event-driven integration, and deliver four 5-10 minute answers in the required video format.

The SAP Certified - Data Architect - SAP Business Data Cloud credential is not a quiz you can revise by memorising features. It is a spoken, scenario-based assessment in which you have to think like an architect out loud: name a paradigm, explain the problem it solves, show where it breaks, and justify a recommendation. This module gives you the facts as SAP publishes them, the four weighted topics quoted from the exam record, a study plan that maps every topic onto the Academy modules and concepts, a drill for the recording itself, a six-week plan, and an honest list of what the Academy does not yet cover.

Prerequisites

  • Core concepts first: C009 (SAP Business Data Cloud), C010 (Data Products), C001 (SAP Datasphere)
  • Modules M031 (BDC Introduction & Architecture) and M033 (Data Products & Studio) or equivalent project experience
  • A quiet room, a headset and a screen-recording or camera set-up for the rehearsals

Outcomes

  • Give a 5-10 minute structured answer on each of the four official topics without a script.
  • Compare federation, replication, zero-copy sharing and event-driven integration for two named platforms in one concrete scenario.
  • Map TOGAF, DAMA-DMBOK and the SAP Enterprise Architecture Framework onto data mesh, data fabric and event-driven designs.
  • Position C_BDCDA against C_BCBDC_2605 and C_BCBTP_2606 in a personal certification plan.
