What is Datasphere Catalog Hygiene for Joule Grounding?

The hygiene failure is silent, not visible — missing a description, a business term, or a semantic-type annotation on just one object makes Joule drop or refuse the query even when the underlying data is perfectly replicated and fresh.

What it is

The Datasphere Catalog is the metadata spine of the tenant: it holds every object's description, business-term assignments, data classifications, lineage graph, and semantic-type annotations. It matters far more than a typical data catalog because of who reads it. A human analyst can tolerate a table with no description — they open the data, scan a few rows, and figure it out. Joule cannot do that. A Joule agent never touches raw tables directly; it traverses the Knowledge Graph, which is built on top of the Catalog.
