What "AI services" means on BTP

SAP's training material places a row of prebuilt services at the top of the AI Foundation map (C337). They were long marketed as SAP AI Business Services: task-specific, SAP-managed, called through REST APIs, billed per document, character, record or call. Their promise is that you consume a capability — extract, translate, classify, recommend — without owning a model. Since the generative AI hub arrived, part of that row has been re-absorbed into foundation models, and SAP pruned it in 2026. The four services on the classic slide now have two different statuses, and a consultant has to know which is which before drawing an architecture.

"Removed from the list of Eligible Cloud Services" has a precise meaning in SAP's guides: the service stays available until the end of the current subscription term, it cannot be renewed for terms starting after the removal date, and maintenance and support continue until that term ends. It is a run-off, not an immediate shutdown — but it is final for new projects.

Why it matters

• A 2026 proposal built on Data Attribute Recommendation or Personalized Recommendation cannot be renewed after the current term — the customer inherits a forced migration.
• Translation Hub and Document AI are the two prebuilt services SAP keeps extending; both are also building blocks inside generative AI hub and SAP Build scenarios.
• Knowing what SAP names as replacement (SAP-RPT-1 for DAR, none for Personalized Recommendation) turns a sunset into a scoped migration offer.

SAP's list of orderable and renewable cloud services; a removed service runs until the end of the current term and cannot be renewed.

MLTR

Multilingual text repository: SAP-verified translations of SAP application texts in SAP HANA, the first provider in Translation Hub; a company MLTR holds your own texts.

Document Translation

Translation Hub service for text and files with synchronous and asynchronous APIs, using SAP neural MT or LLMs; also the engine of the orchestration translation module.

Model template (DAR)

Predefined machine-learning pipeline (generic, AutoML, regression, hierarchical) used to train a DAR model on your dataset.

Next-item recommendation

Personalized Recommendation feature returning the items a user is most likely to select next, based on current context and interaction history.

SAP-RPT-1

SAP's relational pre-trained transformer for tabular classification and regression by in-context learning; SAP's named alternative to DAR.
